Primary Node Group

The Solution Architect must select one of the Node Groups in an architecture as the "Primary" node group.

What is the "Primary" node group? The "Primary" will have the following characteristics:

  • Part of the Micro Cloud
    • It is one of the node groups that is participating in a Micro Cloud.
  • Compute Power
    • It is the main compute node group for the Micro Cloud. Pick the node group that has the most compute power.
  • High Bandwidth
    • The "Primary" will be responsible for much of the Micro Cloud communication overhead.
    • It is also important that you pick a node group that has high bandwidth communication. For example, if you have two node groups and node group #1 has all the nodes connected with ethernet over fiber and node group #2 has the nodes connected via 4G, then select node group #1 as the "Primary".

How to select a node group as "Primary":

  • Highlight the Node Group. This will open the Properties panel for the node group.
  • Select the checkbox labeled "Primary"
  • Hit the Save button at the bottom of the properties panel
